Trancy
A Smart Way to Learn Languages
Trancy is an AI-powered translation plugin designed to help language learners understand foreign-language content while browsing the web. By combining real-time translation with contextual learning tools, the product turns everyday browsing into a more interactive language-learning experience. During my internship, I worked on improving the product experience across onboarding, interface design, and cross-platform adaptation.

Onboarding Improvements
When I joined the team, the onboarding flow relied heavily on written instructions, which made it harder for new users to quickly understand how the product worked. I redesigned the onboarding experience and user guide structure to make the first interaction clearer and more direct. The new flow simplified navigation, reduced unnecessary steps, and emphasized the product's core features. The goal was to help users start using Trancy immediately instead of spending time reading instructions.

Cross-Platform Design
Originally, the product interface was mainly designed for desktop use. I worked on adapting the interface for tablet and mobile devices, ensuring that layouts and interactions remained consistent with the desktop design system while being optimized for smaller screens. This included adjusting layout structures, improving visual hierarchy, and designing touch-friendly interactions for mobile devices. Maintaining consistency across platforms was important so users could move between devices without relearning the interface.

Product Iteration
In addition to interface design, I participated in ongoing product updates and iteration. I reviewed user feedback with the team to identify areas where the interface created confusion or friction. Based on these insights, I proposed design adjustments and updated UI components to support new features and improvements. I also worked closely with engineers to communicate design decisions and created interactive prototypes that helped translate design ideas into implementable solutions.
Reflection
This experience helped me understand how product design extends beyond visual layouts. Working on a real product required balancing usability, technical constraints, and product goals while iterating quickly with the team. It also strengthened my ability to design across platforms and think about how individual screens connect to form a consistent product experience.
